An older full-frame Sony built for video in low light. Its 12 MP sensor keeps noise down in dim rooms, it records 4K, and it takes the same E-mount lenses as our FX3 and A7 bodies. It runs on the small NP-FW50 battery, not the FX3's, so pack spares. For stills, the A7 IV is the better pick.

- It's body only, so add a Sony E-mount lens from the list below.
- One NP-FW50 battery and one 64GB SD card are in the case. The NP-FW50 is small, so add spares for a full day of video.
- It has one card slot, so there's no backup recording to a second card.
- 4K tops out at 30 fps. For 120 fps slow motion, drop to HD.
