Sony's G Master 85mm prime, the classic portrait length on a full-frame body. At f/1.4 it throws the background well out of focus and gathers plenty of light, so it's a common pick for interview close-ups, headshots and cinematic portraits on the A7 IV, A7S III, FX3 or FX6. It takes 77mm filters. For a wider prime, take our 50mm f/1.2 GM; if you'd rather zoom, the 70-200 f/2.8 GM II covers 85mm and beyond.

Good to know
- It's the lens only. It fits Sony E-mount bodies like our FX3, FX6 and a7 IV.
- Front and rear caps, the ALC-SH180 hood and a 77mm UV filter come with it.
- There's no stabilization in the lens, so it relies on the camera's in-body stabilization.
- The aperture ring has a click on/off switch, so you can turn it smoothly for iris changes during a shot.
- On a Super 35 body like the FX30, it frames like about 128mm.
