Shoot a documentary

Documentary work is one or two people carrying everything and shooting what happens, with no second take. The kit has to be light enough to hold for hours and quick enough that you don’t miss the moment while you change a lens or a battery.

Pick one zoom that covers most of the day, put wireless mics on the people you follow, and bring a spare battery for everything that takes one. The FX6 and FX3 use different batteries, so check which camera you’re booking before you add spares.
