Apex 176 Shotgun Mic Rental in Surrey, BC
A hypercardioid shotgun mic for dialogue on a boom or on a camera when the budget is tight. It runs on a single AA battery or on phantom power from 9 to 48V, so it works with almost any recorder, and has a 70 Hz low-cut switch for rumble. It's about 37 cm long and connects over XLR. For lower self-noise and a built-in rechargeable battery, step up to our NTG4+.

Good to know
- It has an XLR output, so it needs an XLR input: a recorder like the Zoom F6 or H4n Pro, a mixer, or a camera's XLR handle.
- It runs on one AA battery or on phantom power from 9 to 48V. Bring a fresh AA if your recorder has no phantom power.
- At about 37 cm it's long for a small camera, so it works best on a boom pole with a shock mount, like our K-Tek pole.
- Outdoors, add the RODE Blimp for wind.
