Zoom H4N Pro Rental in Surrey, BC

A handheld recorder with built-in X/Y stereo mics and two XLR/TRS inputs with phantom power, so you can run a shotgun or lav alongside the room sound. It records up to four tracks at once, at up to 24-bit/96 kHz, to an SD card, runs on two AA batteries, and doubles as a USB audio interface. Pair it with our Rode NTG4+ on the K-Tek boompole. For six inputs and 32-bit float, step up to our Zoom F6.

Good to know

  • No SD card is in the case. It takes SD or SDHC up to 32 GB, so a larger SDXC card will not work.
  • It runs on two AA batteries. None are in the case, so bring spares.
  • The two inputs take XLR or 1/4-inch plugs, with phantom power for mics like the RODE NTG4+.
  • It records up to 24-bit, not 32-bit float, so set levels with headroom for loud moments.
