RODE VideoMicro II On-Camera Microphone Rental in Surrey, BC
A small on-camera shotgun mic that plugs into your camera's 3.5 mm input and draws power from it, so there's no battery to forget. It weighs 39 g on its isolation mount and picks up mostly what's in front of it. It's a clear step up from built-in camera audio for vlogs and run-and-gun work. For interviews, a wireless set like our Rode Wireless PRO gets the mic closer.

Good to know
- It has no battery and runs on plug-in power from the camera's 3.5 mm mic input, so check your camera's input supplies it.
- A camera connects with a 3.5 mm TRS to TRS cable. A phone needs a TRS to TRRS cable.
- It has no XLR output. For an XLR-only recorder, take a shotgun with an XLR output, like the Audio-Technica AT897.
- It has no switches or level control, so set the level on the camera.
