Cloud Microphones Cloudlifter CL-1 Microphone Booster Rental in Surrey, BC

An inline mic activator that adds up to 25 dB of clean gain to a passive mic, like a dynamic podcast mic or a ribbon, so a quiet voice doesn't need the preamp turned up into its hiss. It sits on the XLR line between the mic and the mixer or recorder and runs on that input's 48 V phantom power. It doesn't pass phantom on to the mic, so use it with mics that don't need it, like our Zoom ZDM1, Shure SM58 or Behringer XM8500.

Good to know

  • It runs on 48V phantom power from the recorder, mixer or interface it plugs into, so turn phantom on at that input.
  • It doesn't pass phantom power on to the mic. Use it with dynamic or ribbon mics, not condensers that need phantom.
  • It sits in the XLR line, so plan two XLR cables: one from the mic to the CL-1, and one from the CL-1 to your input.
