Canon AE-1 Film Camera Rental in Surrey, BC

Canon's classic 35mm film SLR from 1976, for when you want real film grain rather than a filter that fakes it. It shoots in shutter-priority auto or full manual, with speeds from 2 seconds to 1/1000 plus bulb. Every speed is electronically controlled, so the shutter won't fire without its 6V 4LR44 battery. It takes Canon FD lenses, and our Olympus 2x teleconverter for FD doubles the reach of the lens on it. If your lens has 52mm threads, our 52mm star and ND8 filters fit.

Good to know

  • No lens is listed in the case. It takes Canon FD lenses only, so bring your own or ask us when you book.
  • Film isn't in the case. Bring your own 35mm rolls and plan time for a lab to develop and scan them.
  • No battery is listed in the case. Carry a spare 4LR44, because a flat battery stops the shutter and the meter.
  • Focus is manual, through the viewfinder.
