Lets headphones with a 1/4-inch plug go into a 3.5mm jack on a camera, recorder or laptop. It takes any stereo 1/4-inch TRS plug. For the opposite job, putting 3.5mm earbuds into a mixer's 1/4-inch headphone jack, take our 1/4" TRS M to 3.5mm F adapter.

Good to know

  • The 1/4-inch end is a socket and the 3.5 mm end is a plug, so it goes on the headphones and into the 3.5 mm jack.
  • It's stereo TRS on both ends, so you hear both channels.
  • A 1/4-inch plug and adapter add weight, so support the headphone cable rather than letting it hang from a camera's jack.
