A USB-A extension with a male plug on one end and a female socket on the other. It gives a card reader or flash drive some clearance on a crowded laptop or hub, or adds reach to a cable that's just short. It's rated USB 3.0, so a fast reader like our USB-A SD/MicroSD card reader isn't slowed down.

Good to know

The male end goes into the computer or hub, and the reader, drive or cable plugs into the female end.
You get USB 3.0 speed only when the port and the device are both USB 3.0.
For a USB-C laptop, add our USB-A to USB-C adapter.
